formed in 1993 in Manchester, gabrielles wish started to produce sounds always original and sometimes confrontational mixing dark electronica and a powerful unnerving live sound. influences and sound a likes are zappa, joy division, boards of canada, the fall, autechre, new order, the stooges, the moffs, the chameleons, early genesis, levitation and the darkside amongst many others. after an encounter with the late rob gretton, new order manager and owner of robs records, pleasure and Manchester records, they were signed and released a clear vinyl double a sided single with the excellent jane weaver (kill laura) featuring the tracks warmonger and marooned which were produced by top music producer chris nagle.

gabrielles wish e.p. released --- featured 7 raw and energetic tracks all diverse and introspective and well worth a listen. putting seven tracks on your first release was an idea based on buying records and the frustration of buying a single with one track and two remixes and feeling totally ripped off.

the artists on Rob's, pleasure and Manchester records carried on with one label, pleasure records. which has since signed excellent bands like magic, valve and j-walk . pleasure released Manchester suite e.p. in january 2001 featuring original electronica tracks Manchester suite, divide and hinges.
